美国物理联合会（American Institute of Physics，AIP）创立于1931 年。AIP 是一家出版研究性期刊、杂志、光盘、会议论文集及名录（包括印刷品和电子版）的专业出版社。AIP及其成员学会的期刊已成为物理学相关文献的核心，出版的文献量占据了全球物理学界研究文献四分之一左右。AIP Proceedings收录了在物理专业会议上发表的最新研究成果，提供了一个比传统期刊更快地了解新知识的途径。
1、资源内容与数量
AIP 数据库收录27种期刊和1种会议录，绝大多数期刊被SCI收录，文献量超过4100万篇。涵盖应用物理、生物科学、化学物理、能源、材料科学、纳米科学、光子学七大学科领域。AIP 出版的旗舰期刊有：Applied Physics Letters、Journal ofApplied Physics 和 The Journal of Chemical Physics，分别是各专业领域排名领先、被引用次数最多的科技期刊之一。
AIP数据库包含两部分内容：AIP数据库主包、合作出版集合
AIP数据库主包：可访问美国物理联合会、日本物理协会的18种电子期刊和1种会议录，可访问全文内容最早为1999年。
合作出版集合：可访问美国物理教师学会、美国声学协会、美国真空协会、流变学协会的9种电子期刊。可访问全文内容从第一卷第一期开始。
数据库采用IP 地址控制访问权限，无并发用户数量限制。通过CERNET 专线访问、无需国际流量费，并免费提供CARSI 访问方式。
2、资源检索系统与功能
AIP 电子期刊通过AIP 开发的Scitation 平台提供访问。在此可进行期刊、参考文献的浏览，以及和其他数据库的相互链接，如INSPECT、MedLine、Web of Science 等。平台可进行简单检索、高级检索、期刊检索、著者检索等多种途径的检索。
AIP 数据库的提供HTML 和PDF 两种全文格式。PDF 格式的全文可以下载到本地。
Scitation 平台还提供多种格式的文献引文供浏览或下载，用户可以使用引文管理器对下载的引文进行管理，以便更有效的利用科技文献。
该平台提供电子邮件推送服务和RSS Feeds 服务。
该平台提供个性化服务。通过简单的注册，用户可以管理个人帐户，随时在线收藏感兴趣的内容，并与他人分享信息。
